The outer shell, made from solid copper in our proprietary Aged Chrome finish, shimmers with a dreamlike, clouded patina. Like polished chrome that has softened with time, it glows with quiet elegance, pairing beautifully with marble, slate, and wood alike. Inside, the ¾" thick CoreAcryl™ shell provides a porcelain-like surface—smooth, strong, and inviting to the touch. Together, copper and CoreAcryl create a bathtub that is as enduring as it is beautiful.
Both the Aged Chrome–finished copper exterior and the CoreAcryl interior are simple to maintain—just wipe with a soft damp cloth and a drop of mild liquid soap. The proprietary Aged Chrome surface is protected by four layers of automotive-grade clear lacquer, ensuring its patina remains vibrant for the life of the tub. The CoreAcryl™ interior is safe with bath salts, though we recommend avoiding bath bombs to preserve the finish. Each Josephine is supplied with a white “Firm Touch” pop-up drain to match the porcelain-like interior.
As every copper shell is hand-formed and finished, slight variations and gentle imperfections are natural. Far from flaws, these subtle details speak to the authenticity of a handmade object—ensuring no two Josephine tubs are ever exactly alike.
The Josephine’s shells are fully intact, with no cut-outs in the body, allowing the tub to stand proudly in the center of any room with all plumbing discreetly concealed. Installation is straightforward thanks to the integrated drain system and a rigid support frame with four adjustable leveling feet for uneven floors. Though the copper and CoreAcryl shells are joined into a single, solid unit, they can be easily separated and reassembled when maneuvering through narrow or difficult access points in the home.
